Congratulations to our CHS Cheer Team! They wowed the judges during their preliminary performance and have been added to the list of schools that are POTENTIAL advancers to the state finals of the #UILState Spirit competition. Final preliminary results will be released later tonight. Regardless of the outcome, we are SO proud of these ladies for representing the #CadetStandard with pride!

Are you interested in helping out the hardworking coaches and athletes at Connally ISD? Consider becoming a member of the Connally ISD Athletic Booster Club! This organization serves all of our athletic programs at the junior high and high school, helping provide them with supplies, meals, and scholarships to thank them for the hard work that they put in as they represent the #CadetStandard. Booster club members do not have to have students that currently participate in CISD Athletics! Anyone in the community can help out! The next meeting of the CISD Athletic Booster Club will be held TONIGHT at the Lecture Hall in the CISD Multi-Purpose Building at 6:00 PM. Today is the first day that interested parties may file their intention to run for the Connally Independent School District’s Board of Trustees. Two seats on the board - Place 1 and Place 2 - will be up for election on May 3, 2025. The last day to file for candidacy is February 14, 2025. Interested individuals may come to the Connally ISD Administration Building during regular business hours to pick up and fill out the necessary forms. Connally ISD is incredibly thankful for the dedicated service and efforts of all of its past and present board members. Congratulations also goes to our 2024 Varsity Football Team who, after completing a fun season, was awarded COUNTLESS recognitions from both district and state level organizations - including NINE Academic All-District Honors and THREE Academic All-State Recognitions! We are also proud to recognize members of the CHS Band who made the Region 8 All Region Band! Additionally, two students - Daniel Escobedo and Alexavier Jackson - were recognized for qualifying to the Area round of auditions! These students are all outstanding representations of the #CadetStandard!

Please join us in congratulating Priscilla Alvarez, Esteban Contreras, and Ta'Nyja Dickerson as graduates of Lakeview Academy! These students were recognized at last night's board meeting for having met all of the requirements laid out by the Connally Independent School District and the Texas Education Agency to receive their diplomas. We are very proud of them and cannot wait to see all that they accomplish. We hope that they will continue to represent the #CadetStandard with pride as they move forward in life!

CISD is consulting with the National Weather Service about weather conditions in our area. Any delays or closures will be communicated to parents as soon as such information is available. Based on the current data available, all Connally ISD campuses will be OPEN on Friday, January 10. ALL students should be in attendance for normal instruction. Connally ISD has spent the day in consultation with the National Weather Service. The most recent information released indicates that our communities are expected to receive cold rain tomorrow, but should not experience any ice accumulation throughout the school day. Based on this report, the district has made the decision to operate on a normal schedule. All campuses will run on normal operating hours. We will continue to watch the forecast and monitor updates that we receive from the National Weather Service. Texas weather can be unpredictable, but Connally ISD remains committed to keeping our stakeholders up to date with any changes to our operating plan. The district will communicate any additional updates regarding school delays, closures, or early dismissals through our social media accounts, Thrillshare messaging system, and announcements through the local news media.

ATHLETIC SCHEDULE CHANGE: Due to the possibility of inclement weather, all JUNIOR HIGH basketball games scheduled for January 9 have been canceled.

January is School Board Recognition Month! We are incredibly thankful for each of these outstanding citizens who go above and beyond to serve their school community. They dedicate an incalculable amount of their time to help us set and uphold the #CadetStandard. Thank you!!!!
