Connally ISD is aware of a report originating from KWKT Fox 44 that states that the district’s Board of Trustees will hold a Special Meeting on Saturday, June 26, to accept the resignation of Superintendent Jill Bottelberghe.

Ms. Bottelberghe will continue to serve as the Superintendent of Connally ISD for the upcoming school year. The next meeting of the CISD Board of Trustees - their regularly scheduled monthly meeting - will take place on Monday, June 28.

We just received word that the Connally High School Journalism Team had SIX students named to the UIL All State Journalism Staff! The following students received acknowledgement as being in the top 245 student journalists in the state:
- Glyn McDaniel
- Jazmin Onalaja
- Jocelyn Castillo
- Olivia Lopez
- Olivia Whitford
- Sarah Hunsucker
These students achieved great successes throughout the 2024 - 2025 school year. They were named District 23-4A Champions, 3rd place team overall in Region III-4A, and had two students qualify to the UIL State Tournament! Additionally, Glyn McDaniel was named the state champion in News Writing; she also received the Tops in Texas distinction, meaning that her paper was considered the best in the state (across all conferences)!
We are so proud of these talented students. They represent the #CadetStandard with pride!

Mentoring Alliance is excited to care for children enrolled in Pre-K through 5th grade this year! The program will operate from 3:40 to 6:00 PM on days when school is in session. The program is also available from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Intervention Fridays.
Students enrolled in Pre-K through 3rd grade will attend the program at Connally Primary School (transportation from CECC to CPS will be provided by the district). Students enrolled in 4th and 5th grade will attend the program at Connally Elementary School. Our goal is to provide exceptional care for every student.
A typical schedule for a day in the after-school program is as follows:
Snack Time: 3:40 to 4:00 PM
Think Tank (Homework Time): 4:10 to 4:40 PM
Group Play: 4:50 to 5:20 PM
Dismissal: 5:30 to 6:00 PM
The activity may change depending on the day, but times will be consistent. Additional details about the programming, as well as policies and procedures that are in place to ensure a safe environment, can be found in the program handbook here: https://5il.co/3m7fa

Shepherd's Heart will be in Connally ISD from 3:30 to 4:30 this afternoon for the July FREE food distribution. There is no income verification required.

Registration will take place from July 29 to July 31 at the CISD Admin Building. Parents will be able to register all of their students in one convenient location!

Connally ISD is now accepting transfer applications for students who live out of district!
There is a $500.00 tuition for the first student in a family who resides outside of district boundaries that opts to transfer in. An additional $100.00 fee will be added for each additional student after that point. Tuition fees must be paid prior to the student(s) completing the registration process. Parents may opt to pay the entirety of the fee at once or split it between half payments in July 2025/January 2026. If payments are not made prior to these deadlines, the student will be withdrawn from Connally ISD. Tuition may be paid for using cash, cashier's checks, and/or money orders.
Applications will be accepted during normal business hours from June 30th to July 24th. Applications may be submitted to the Connally ISD Administration Building.

Messages such as this are tremendously difficult to deliver.
It is with a very heavy heart that we inform our community of the death of one of our young Cadets. Jayce Swindall, who recently finished 4th Grade at Connally Elementary School, passed away on June 22, 2025. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family as they grieve this tragic loss.
The death of a student can bring about many emotions. The Connally ISD website has age appropriate resources to assist our younger students with processing this great loss. These resources can be found at www.connally.org/page/resources-for-student-grief-and-trauma.
Funeral services for Jayce will be held at Lake Shore Funeral Home on Saturday, June 28 at 2:00 PM.
We ask that all of Cadet Nation keep his family in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this time.
