Our 2nd-8th grade students have been hard at work this year preparing for their district competitions in A+ UIL Academics. We are excited to announce the results of these competitions!
These students and coaches worked tirelessly to hone their skills as they prepared to face off against other schools in the Waco area. Their results represent a significant increase in both participation and success from previous years!
We look forward to celebrating these students with incentive days and awards ceremonies in the coming months!

GOOD NEWS ALERT!
Congratulations to Coach Lisa Baucom for being named one of the recipients of the 2024 UIL Sponsor Excellence Award!
This award, which is given to only 15 of the best athletic, academic, or music coaches in the state each year, officially acknowledges what everyone at Connally ISD has known for a long time: Coach Baucom is the GOAT!
Coach Baucom will be recognized at the 2025 UIL State Track and Field Meet as one of this year's winners. She will also receive a $1,000.00 prize check.
“In today’s age, most people believe competition means to defeat others in a contest,” Baucom said. “I seek to train these young people lifelong principles through the thrill of athletic competitions. These lessons would include teamwork, winning and losing with grace, developing grit, and having an exceptional work ethic.”

5th Grade Students at Connally Elementary School had an awesome time learning all about healthy ecosystems last week!
Each student built a terrarium and had the opportunity to have some fun hands-on learning as they studied the different components of living and nonliving ecosystems!
We look forward to sharing more success stories from the classroom!

Connally ISD has spent the day monitoring the forecast. Based on the current information released by the National Weather Service, we do not expect any precipitation, just cold temperatures. All Connally ISD campuses will be open for normal operating hours tomorrow, February 19.
We are eager to greet each of our students tomorrow! We encourage everyone to wear appropriate clothing for the cold weather!
The district will continue to watch the forecast and monitor updates that we receive from the National Weather Service. Texas weather can be unpredictable, but Connally ISD remains committed to keeping our stakeholders up to date with any changes to our operating plan. The district will communicate any additional updates regarding school delays, closures, or early dismissals through our social media accounts, Thrillshare messaging system, and announcements through the local news media.

As we navigate this next snap of cold weather, please make sure that you are aware of how Connally ISD communicates information regarding school delays and closures. The district works hard to make decisions based on the most updated information from the National Weather Service. Oftentimes, district officials will personally drive each of the roads in our district in order to determine whether or not they are safe to travel on.
Any school cancelations due to bad weather will require the district to update its instructional calendar in order for students to make up the time missed due to a closure.
Please take a moment to check and make sure that your contact information is correct in Skyward. If you would like to change your contact number/email, please reach out to the front office of your student's campus.

We had a fantastic time hosting several members of our community for our second annual Senior Citizen Valentine's Day Luncheon!
After being escorted in by our Modern Gentlemen and Classy Cadets, community members had the opportunity to connect with one another while hearing about all of the exciting things that are happening in their school district. They got the chance to view short presentations from multiple campuses and student groups, including a series of adorable songs from our day care students!
Each of our guests were treated to a delicious meal prepared by students in the Connally High School Culinary Arts program. Several attendees left the event with beautiful flower arrangements prepared by the newly established Connally ISD Floral Design program!
It was a great day full of smiles, laughter, and enthusiastic conversation!
We look forward to hosting more community events in the future!

Connally ISD is excited to share news of a new resource for parental support in our community!
Sponsored by the Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network, Warm-Line is a service geared towards parent support and guidance that teaches nurturing parenting techniques through lived experience. It provides a place for parents and caregivers to gain support and resources. The resource is open to anyone in the public, and gives parents the opportunity to reach out to receive help in processing their feelings in times of high stress and overwhelming situations. This resource can be used to help individuals mitigate stress to avoid crises from arising.
For more information about Warm-Lin, visit www.hotbhn.org.

Shepherd's Heart will be in Connally ISD from 3:30 to 4:30 this afternoon for the February FREE food distribution. There is no income verification required.

Congratulations to the CHS Speech and Debate Team!
For the first time since 2017, Connally will be represented at the #UILState CX Debate Tournament!
The team of Daniel Escobedo and Elena Astrain went UNDEFEATED at the district meet and won first place, securing their trip to the state tournament.
The duo of Glyn McDaniel and Juliey McDaniel also qualified for the state meet after placing 2nd overall at the district level.
This impressive showing represents the first time since 2013 that Connally has captured BOTH of the state qualifying slots.
We are so proud of these students and cannot wait to watch them represent the #CadetStandard with pride at the state tournament!
