CES Families! Tomorrow, September 22nd, will be an Intervention Friday. This is only for students who also came to our last Intervention on September 8th. The same group of students will also come to school on October 13th for Intervention. These intervention days are mandatory for any student who received a letter. CES Parents- Happy first day of school! Starting today, if you are planning to pick up your child after school, you must stay in your car and wait in the line on Cadet Way with your parent pick up card in the window. We will not allow parents to park and walk up to the cafeteria door to wait. If you do not have a card, please bring your ID to the front office so we can issue you one. In order to maintain test security, all cell phones and smart watches will be taken up during testing and returned at the end of the school day. Students will not need their backpacks. In order to maintain test security, all cell phones and smart watches will be taken up during testing and returned at the end of the school day. Students will not need their backpacks. CES 4th grade parents- Tomorrow 4th grade students will go on their field trip to L3. Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes or other athletic shoes. Students may not be able to participate in all activities if they are wearing crocs or slides.

CES Parents- Due to the possibility of inclement weather, there will be no after school tutoring today, March 2nd. Tomorrow will be an early release at 11:45 AM, and there will be no school March 6-10th for Spring Break. Also, there will be no after school tutoring after Spring Break, as we move into changing our daily schedule to allow for targeted intervention during the school day for our STAAR Blitz. Do I need to keep my child home from school?
As long as your child has no COVID symptoms, or has not tested positive for COVID, you should continue attending school, but please carefully screen your child for symptoms each morning before coming to school. If he or she has any symptoms, please keep your child home and contact the campus office and your child’s doctor.
What is considered “directly exposed”?
There are multiple elements to consider including confirmation of the virus existing, proximity to the virus, timing of when a person is contagious, being directly coughed on, and lack of prevention measures like masks or physical distancing. Although the Texas Education Agency does not require schools to conduct contact tracing, campus personnel will assist the nurse in identifying students who have been directly exposed to a positive case.
Do I need to keep my child home from school?
He or she may continue to come to school, but please carefully screen your student for symptoms each morning before coming to school. If he or she has any symptoms, please keep your student home and contact your child’s doctor or the School Nurse to arrange for COVID test from the school.
Connally ISD believes in transparency and respects the right of parents to be informed of their student’s proximity to COVID-19. We also request your vigilance in monitoring symptoms. Again, please keep your student home if he or she experiences symptoms.
