    Heart of Texas Region MHMR Center
    The Heart of Texas Region MHMR (HOTRMHMR) Center is made up of caring professionals who are dedicated to helping individuals and families cope with mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, developmental delays, and emotional conflict.

    Fostering Hope Resilience & Recovery
    Provide services for children and youth ages 3 to 17 that have been exposed or witnessed traumatic or life-threatening events or children of military families are eligible for services. Each child is screened and assessed to determine eligibility for services.

    Klaras Center for Families
    Klaras Center for Families assists children and adolescents, ages three through 17, who evidence significant emotional and/or behavioral difficulties. These children must demonstrate a need for intensive services and meet eligibility requirements.

    Youth Empowerment Services (YES) Waiver
    The YES (Youth Empowerment Services) Waiver is a 1915(c) Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services Waiver that allows for more flexibility in the funding of intensive community-based services to assist children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbances to live in the community with their families.

    Waiver services are provided in combination with services available through the Medicaid State Plan, other federal, state, and local programs the individual may qualify for, and the natural supports that families and communities provide.

    INTENT TO DESTROY SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM RECORDS

    In accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act §300.611-300.625 and the Texas State Library and Archives Commission Local Retention Schedule [13 TAC §7.125(a) (4) (Second Edition), Retention Schedule for Records of Public School Districts (Section 3-1); Special Education Program Records, the Connally Independent School District intends to destroy special education records maintained for individual students who have not received special education services since the academic year 2017-2018.

    Special education records inactive (DNQ, Withdrawal, Dismissal, Graduation) since the academic year 2017-2018 or before this date will be destroyed by shredding, burning, or permanently deleting and purging in the student data management system. Destruction of these records conforms to the requirements of the above legal authorities.

    A parent or adult student wanting to exercise the right to access those records and request copies must provide a written request no later than September 1, 2025, to:

  • The purpose of Child Find is to locate, identify, and evaluate children from birth to 21 years of age with disabilities and their possible need for specialized instruction and related services through special education.
    Child Find is a free referral and information service available through Connally ISD and Education Service Center Region 12.
    Children come in all sizes, shapes, colors, and abilities. Children learn at different rates, but some children have significant difficulty in one or more areas such as social interaction, play, speech and language, physical ability, vision, hearing, attention, behavior, or gross and fine motor skills. We’re here to help parents access services to meet the unique learning needs of their child. If you are concerned that your child may be learning, playing, or interacting differently from other children, please call the Connally ISD Special Education Department.

  • The Parent-directed Treatment Project will provide face-to-face treatment and/or online training at no cost for parents and caregivers of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Parents or caregivers will be instructed in how to improve the communication skills of their own children.
