Does your employer offer an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?

  1. Contact the HR dept. Through your work and ask if they offer an EAP. Some places will cover multiple counseling sessions and direct you to covered providers.


Do you have insurance? Most insurance companies have a providers search engine on the insurance website.

  1. Google the name of your insurance provider and find providers.

    1. Example: “Find providers for Blue Cross Blue Shield:

  2. Once on the website you can search by provider type: “Counselor”, “Pediatrician”, or “Psychiatrist”

  3. Providers in the area that accept our insurance will pop up in a list.

  4. You can click on each provider and it will tell you if they are accepting new clients or other specifiers (such as specialities or other languages spoken).

STARRY Counseling Services

STARRY Counseling Services are free to families with children up to 17 years old (or youth older than the age of 17 who are still enrolled in high school in Texas). Counseling services include individual, group, and family counseling, as well as parenting classes.

Klaras assists children and adolescents ages 3 to 21 who have emotional and/or behavioral difficulties. They can provide screening, referrals, counseling, case management, skills training, parent education and support, psychiatric services, and medication support for those that qualify. Most insurance plans are accepted, including Medicaid and CHIP. Fees for services are based on a sliding scale. If ineligible for insurance, other payment arrangements can be made so that no one is turned away due to inability to pay.
