WelcomeCelebrating Achievement Congratulations to the Lady Cadet Track Team on winning the Class AAA State Track and Field Championship meet! The Lady Cadets placed in the following events: Khalaya Williams – 3rd place Triple Jump Paula Smith – 2nd place Long Jump Paula Smith – 1st place 400 Meter Dash Paula Smith – 1st place High Jump Mara Thomas, Talea Turner, Khalaya Williams, Paula Smith, alternates Megan DeLaGarza and Dorishia Barnes – 1st place 1600 Meter Relay. Coming Together as a Community for the Sake of Our Kids The Cadet Chase 5K Run and Kids Dash will be held on May 19, 2012. All proceeds go towards the creation of the Connally Cadet Education Foundation to benefit our Students & Teachers. For more information and registration The CHS Cheerleaders Volunteered at the Stiletto Stampede for the Cure last weekend! This event benefited the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer. The Cheerleaders volunteer at many community events to help raise awareness for breast cancer. The Zumba craze has come to Connally ISD! Connally ISD is offering Zumba on Monday's and Wednesday's at 4:30 in the administration gym. This is part of a fitness initiative for both faculty and community. Come join in the fun for $2 per class under the instruction of Jeremiah Navejas. Participating in Engaging Classrooms Here are some recent classroom activities in which our students are involved. CHS students go on a QR Hunt with their smart phones in search of clues for math terms. Connally Elementary students are learning while using iPads in Mr. Bullard’s and Mrs. Farris’ classes. Connally JROTC is taking the classroom outside to apply survival skills training. Connally Junior High students are using the new TI-Nspire graphing calculators provided by the GEAR UP grant. Learning, Exploring & Participating Beyond the School Day On Saturday, April 14, several CHS students participated in the Good Grades Good Hoops All-Star Basketball game at MCC. On March 24th, 50 of our 6th and 7th Grade girls attended a conference to nurture girls' interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). ![]() WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads of Great Students) is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security. Today, more than 2276 active programs in 41 states participate in the WATCH D.O.G.S. Program. The program is designed to engage men, inspire children, reduce bullying and enhance the educational environment in our schools. The WATCH D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school.
