  • CHS provides "Cadet U" after-school program

    Nov. 20, 2012

    Dear Parents,

On Tuesday, November 27, we will begin an after-school program designed to help all Connally students be more successful academically. “Cadet U” will be held every Tuesday and Thursday after school until 5:00, and buses will run for students needing transportation.

Cadet U will be mandatory for students who are:

        1. missing assignments

        2. needing to make up assignments or tests after being absent

        3. redoing assignments

        4. reviewing, and later retesting

        5. in need of extra help (pro-actively determined by a teacher)

Students will be allowed to leave once they have completed the work they have been assigned.

Students will be assigned to Cadet U at least one day prior to attending, unless a student asks to attend on the same day. PARENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY THE STUDENT OR TEACHER AT LEAST ONE DAY PRIOR TO THE ASSIGNMENT OF CADET U.

Students who fail to show up to Cadet U will be subject to disciplinary measures, including lunch detention, after school detention, and ISS.

By holding students accountable for completing work, for redoing work, and for reviewing and retesting, we are holding them accountable for learning. We are also providing the opportunity for all students to achieve academic success.

Thank you for your continued support.
